Class Information

Ardance Minis (kids ages 3-5) train in Pre-Ballet. Dancers learn Ballet Terminology, gain flexibility, train proper technique, learn rhythm and musicality, experience their first performance opportunities. Not to mention, classes at Ardance focus on discipline, working hard, motivation and positive attitude and mindset.

Pre-Ballet at Ardance is based on Vaganova (Russian) Ballet. We are the only school in the area that is based on Vaganova. Our founder, is a Vaganova Pedagogy Graduate, born and raised in Russia. All of our classes follow her curriculum structure.

Class is roughly 50 minutes long with a water break and sticker time at the end. Parents are always welcome to watch class.

All Ballet classes in Ardance are based on Vaganova (Russian) Ballet. We are the only school in the area that is structured and teaches Vaganova. Our founder, is a Vaganova Pedagogy Graduate, born and raised in Russia. All of our classes follow her curriculum structure.

Students further their knowledge of terminology and movement, flexibility and strength, learn and perform Ballet choreography. Not to mention, classes at Ardance focus on discipline, working hard, motivation and positive attitude and mindset.

We introduce Barre work, Turns, Center, Jumps, Across the Floor to students amongst completion of Pre-Ballet or showing adequate knowledge or desire to learn Ballet.

At age 9/10, students (upon approval from Teacher) are introduced to Pre-Pointe. In the beginning phases of Pre-Pointe training, prior to receiving pointe shoes, students attend a 45 minute strengthening class weekly designed to prepare students for Pointe Work. Once a student demonstrates proper alignment, skillset, strength, foot flexibility, attitude, and more… we approve them for Pointe. We do not tolerate improper Pointe Work, this can cause long term health effects. Transferring students to Ardance are always auditioned before continuing Pointe.

We will be adding an official Pointe work class Fall 2021.

Jazz/Choreo is a choreography based class for ages 5+. We start the class with a strengthening and conditioning warm up. Then we begin working on Choreography to modern age appropriate music. We learn new Choreography fairly often, we do not just learn one piece for a recital, we learn multiple over the course of a semester.

This class is designed for new dancers who need extra time, help or class time to gain flexibility.

Lyrical/Contemporary is a Choreography based class for slower, more emotional dancing. We encourage this class for students that prefer more proper movement or just enjoy acoustic, strong and slow music.

We start the class with a strengthening and conditioning warm up. Then we begin working on Choreography to modern age appropriate music. We learn new Choreography fairly often, we do not just learn one piece for a recital, we learn multiple over the course of a semester.
